Children's Ministry
Welcome to the
Children's Ministry webpage! First, let us introduce ourselves. Our names are
Gary and Melissa Baker. We are both educators and our passion is working with children.
We are excited about our new endeavor as the Children’s Ministry Coordinators.
We believe it is vital to get our children involved in the church at a young age. We strongly believe if the roots are planted in children about the importance of being involved in their church, learning all the wonderful bible stories, and having a memorable time along the way then they will continue with church and being Christians throughout their entire life!
We have a great team of Sunday school teachers at Nelson Memorial, and we want to encourage all children to bring friends to Sunday school and church! Also, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the end of Sunday school time all children K-5 will get to be a part of the children’s choir, and will practice in the choir room. Parents can pick up their children at 10:15 a.m. from choir practice!
At the 10:20 a.m. service we have children's church, which takes place after children’s time during the regular church service. At children’s church we have our own mini church, but just for children! It is set up much like the regular church with music, sharing of joys and concerns, offering and a message. However, we also have hands on activities that are lots of fun for the children! The children really enjoy having their own mini-church service and take ownership in the service! We always welcome guest speakers.
We look forward to working with the children's ministry at Nelson Memorial. We are very enthusiastic about the upcoming year and working with all of the wonderful children!
