Clergy
E.D. McClaflin, Pastor
Rev. E. D. McClaflin has served as our minister since 2007. Pastor E is a Graduate of St. Paul School of Theology, and an Elder in the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is married to Maggie, and they are the parents of four children: Steven (25), Ian (19), Laura (17) and Bobby (8).
Children and Youth Minstries
Karma Haller, Youth Director
Karma Haller serves as both Program Ministry Coordinator and Youth Director at Nelson. She and her husband, Earl, have been members since 1987 and have raised their three children, Victoria, Nickolas and Luke in the Nelson church family. Karma has worked with the youth since 1989. She says, “I truly feel that this is where our awesome God has called me. As 1 Timothy 4:12 states, Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Sheri Phillips, Kids Hope USA Director
Sheri Phillips directs Kids Hope USA, a mentoring program for elementary school children in our community. She says about the program, “This program has blessed many lives: of children, mentors, and prayer partners, as well as mine. I am very passionate about this wonderful program because of the children and the impact it has on their lives.” Sheri is married with two children: Heather, a high school student, and Boo, whom her family is in the process of adopting. The Bible verse that goes through her mind daily and which guides her is Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

Jennifer is our new Children's Ministry Coordinator. She loves working with children. Her enthusiasm and her creativity help make Nelson an exciting place for kids. Jennifer and her husband Jeremy are the parents of two young children, Lauren and Brooks. She is curently developing new programs and opportunities for kids to learn, grow and participate in active ministry. Please contact her if you have kids, or if you would like to volunteer for children's ministry.

Nancy Ward, Organist
Nancy is a lifelong Boonville resident who has attended Nelson UMC since she was three weeks old. She began as organist in 1971, and has worked with nine pastors at Nelson. She plays both piano and organ, but piano is her "first love." Nancy and her husband John have four children, three children-in-law and nine grandchildren. A scripture that reflects her music ministry is Psalms 28:7: The Lord is my strength and shield; in Him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.
