World Day of Prayer

“Let Everything That Has Breath Praise God”
The “World Day of Prayer” Service, sponsored by Church Women United will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Friday, March 5, 2010. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. Worship Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Lucy Farrell is the representative.

Staff-Parish Relations

The staff-parish relations committee is made up of nine church members elected at the annual fall Church Conference to liaison between our pastor, paid staff and congregation. Some of the primary responsibilities of the committee are to encourage and support the staff and pastor, promote unity among the congregation and assess how effective we all are in ministry and mission. SPRC members for 2010 are: Evelyn Rogers (chair), Sandy Halford, Marsha Kempf, John Linville, Gayle Livingston, Kim Phelps, Leslie Reardon, Darin Walker, Laura Wax. In 2010, SPRC is making prayer a priority. Please pray for our staff and pastor. We meet every Communion Sunday for prayer after one of the regular services (following the 8:00 a.m. service on March 7). If you have questions or comments for SPRC, please call Evelyn at 537-1724.

Spaghetti Dinner

Please join the Youth Mission Team for our March Fundraising Dinner on March 7, 2010 in Fellowship Hall following our 10:20 Worship Service. We will be serving Spaghetti, Green Beans, Salad, Garlic Bread and Dessert. $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for ages 5 to 12, and free for those under 5. We are so blessed with being a part of this wonderful church family who supports us so lovingly. Thank you so much.

Family Easter Event

We would like to invite all children and their families to join us on Good Friday, April 2nd, at 7:00 pm to celebrate the gift of Easter. We will meet on the front lawn to hear the Easter story, participate in several activities in fellowship hall, and end with an egg hunt. We hope to see you there!

Confirmation Class for Teens and Adults

We will be starting a new Confirmation class in April after Easter. If you are in the 6th – 12th grades and have not been confirmed, we would like to invite you to be part of this class. But this year there is something new. Adults who are interested in membership in the United Methodist Church, or those who just want to learn more about our church, are invited to join the weekly class sessions with the pastor each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. For the youth there will also be activity assignments to do with an adult mentor. It will all culminate with a confirmation service on Pentecost Sunday, May 23. If you are interested, please contact the church office by April 2. If you are an adult who is either Safe Sanctuary certified, or can finish the training this month, and would like to be considered as a mentor, contact the pastor at pastoremcc@yahoo.com or through the church office.

UM Summer Church Camp 2010

Missouri Camping and Retreat Ministries has announced the 2010 United Methodist Summer Camp Schedule. Camps are available for kids aged 5 through 18 years. Parents can register on-line at www.mocamps.org. After completing the online registration, please send a note to the church office indicating the name of each camper along with the camp code number. Participants are verified at the end of camp season for final payment from the church. As in past years, Nelson Memorial is offering 50% financial support for the church family attending all UM 2010 Summer Camps. An “early bird” price is available when registering before April 16. Please take advantage of early bird prices; it will save money for you and the church. Call the church office to obtain the voucher code needed for this saving.
