Exploring Faith—Together
Sunday School for All Ages

Children’s, youth and adult Sunday school classes begin at 9 a.m. each Sunday. Find a class that fits you, and every member of your family.

Children’s and Youth Classes

Nursery

Our nursery is staffed by safe-sanctuary-trained adults and young adults who love kids. Children from infancy to age 4 can play, nap, snack and learn during all three services and Sunday school. Nursery care is also available for many special events. The nursery is supervised by Marcey Caldwell. First floor, Education Building.

Three-and four-year-olds

The three-and-four-year-old class has recently been redecorated. Nancy and Larry Schler are our patient and dedicated teachers. They have many years of experience teaching our youngest Sunday school group. First floor, Education Building.

Kindergarten and first grades

Bob Koch teaches this age group. Crafts, games, Bible stories and videos are all part of the weekly class time. First floor, Education Building.

Second and third grades

Second and third graders enjoy music, Cokesbury Bible lessons, weekly video segments and more in this class taught by Cheryl Salyer and Steve Litwiller. Upstairs, Education Building.

Fourth and fifth grades

Nancy Parker has taught the fourth-and-fifth-grade class for several years. Videos, Bible lessons from Cokesbury and faith-based activities and discussions help prepare this age group to move up to middle school. Upstairs, Education Building.

Middle school

Sixth- through eighth-grade students are ready for more ambitious activities, but they’re not too old to play. Class includes competitive games, Bible reading, a weekly video segment, fellowship and some emphasis on life application of faith concepts. Bill Parker teaches the class. Upstairs, Education Building.

High school

Judy Long teaches this class. High school students are encouraged to think for themselves, with the Bible as their guide, and sometimes even debate about faith questions. Occasional breakfasts out (or in ) are a part of this class.

Youth Group

Under the supervision of Youth Director Karma Haller, her husband, Earl, and Hessie Watts, 6th through 12th graders meet every Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. to talk, play, work and eat. The group plans regular field trips to recreational events and reaches out to help members of the church and community through mission-minded work projects. Adult members of the church provide dinner for the youth after the weekly meetings. Youth group members who are in eighth grade or older may also go on the annual youth mission trip. Youth room (basement, off the Fellowship Hall).

Adult Classes

Back to Basics

This popular class studies the basic truths of the Christian faith. Taught by Cindy Koch, the class pulls information from several resources, but their study adheres to what the Bible teaches. Classroom located in the basement, off the Fellowship Hall.

Challengers

The Challengers class is taught by Tom Maxwell. This class has a long tradition of biblically based studies, usually with the aid of a study guide which the class selects, balancing fellowship and study. Classroom located in the basement, off the Fellowship Hall.

Contemporary Christian Characters

Under the leadership of Karma and Earl Haller, the group follows a scripture-based study guide and will bring out the character in you! Chapel (first floor, Education Building).

Foundation

This is a class for adults from college age to approximately forty. The group studies life application of Biblical principles and enjoys fellowship with each other in a social setting. The class is led by John and Nancy Ward. First floor, Education Building.

Open Door

Dave Day teaches this class, composed of singles and couples, both long-time members and those new to our church. The Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies literature provides the basis for discussion and growth. First floor, Education Building.

Seekers

This class is led by John Linville. Weekly discussion of Christianity, pursuit of family values, and service through hospitality to others are part of the class curriculum. Seek them out in the Fellowship Hall.
